How does the Safari Rally work?
Four nights. Three days on the road. One memorable arrival in Victoria Falls.
Meet in Bulawayo for registration and the opening dinner, then travel through Hwange National Park to Victoria Falls. The rally runs from 18–21 March 2027, with departure on Monday 22 March.
You’ll receive a digital rally map kit, information pack and offline GPS map routes. Follow the mapped route with your team and reach each overnight stop for dinner, drinks and stories. Support teams travel at the back to help with breakdowns and problems along the way.
The route takes in back roads, railway-line roads, dirt and strip roads, main roads, bush tracks and 4×4 sections. Bring a good navigator—and a sense of humour.

Registration on Thursday. Three rally driving days from Friday to Sunday. Homeward bound on Monday.

Registration & opening dinner
Register at Holiday Inn Bulawayo, 10:00am–2:00pm. Collect your rally information, route details and final event briefing.
The opening party is at The Bulawayo Club, 6:00pm. Dress code: Formal / Smart.

Bulawayo to Hwange
The first driving day follows a shared route from Bulawayo to Hwange Main Camp or your allocated lodge. Expect bumpy and sandy sections as you leave the main tar road behind.
Dinner is at Hwange Safari Lodge and the other allocated lodges. Settle in for stories around the fire.

Programme day 03 · Saturday 20 March 2027
Theme day in Hwange
Choose a theme, dress up and travel through Hwange National Park from Hwange Main Camp or your allocated lodge to Robin’s Camp or your allocated lodge.
Depart in your own time. Enjoy the game drive, waterholes, hides and wildlife along the way.

Programme day 04 · Sunday 21 March 2027
Hwange to Victoria Falls
Travel from Robin’s Camp or your allocated lodge to Victoria Falls, departing in your own time.
Celebrate at the grand finale dinner at the Lookout Café, overlooking Victoria Falls Bridge and the Zambezi River.

Homeward bound
Depart Victoria Falls for home or your next destination. You can choose to stay longer to enjoy the Falls; that is outside the four-night package.
Vehicle transporters from Victoria Falls can be arranged, and you may choose to fly out if preferred.

These distances and times are a guideline. These were measured and driven at leisure. Please ensure you leave in good time to arrive in camp before 6pm. Depending on which camp you stay in, Day 2 and Day 3 will either be shorter or longer than what is specified here. Map routes will be sent in detail closer to the time.
* Road update - Hwange Safari Lodge to Robin’s Camp through the Park - Dirt road has been worked on and is significantly better. Bulawayo to Victoria Falls Main road - is undergoing maintenance. Whilst the potholes are being repaired, the state of the road remains in a bad way, which is why we encourage you to join us, taking the route less travelled on the back dirt roads instead. Please keep this in mind when choosing your vehicle for the Zimbabwe Safari Rally.
